Martin Beard was my younger brother. He has 2 sisters, myself and Rachael Beard.

He was only 20 and was taken from us very young but doing a job he loved. He was a brave soldier, a
member of the Number 1 Squadron, a proud RAF Gunner. Martin was killed in action serving his country
in Basra, Iraq.

He was a loving member of the Tutin family, a real family man and dedicated to his fiancee Nic, who
he was due to be married in June 08.

I will remember Martin as witty, caring and loveable. He was always there to cheer you up when you
were down. He always knew what to say for the best.

I will never forget our many Christmas and evenings together playing games and laughing so much I
ached the next day. The nights out in Town and again laughing so much we cried.

It is always said they take the good young, in my dreams I hope he is at peace with our Mother
Freda, who departed this Earth 10years ago and we will meet again.

We all love and miss you Martin x x x

My heart goes out to you and your family.xx

What a handsome, happy and brave young man, may he always rest in peace in the knowledge that he is loved and remembered by those who were special to him.

A poem for you on the loss of a 'special' one.xx

My Dear Brother now that you are gone,
You're no longer here to share,
The bond we had together,
a bond of love and care.
Yet somehow something tells me,
you are watching over me,
Now that from worldly cares,
you finally are free
I miss you so very much,
and my tears I cannot hide,
Yet, within my heart, I feel
You are always by my side.
Ever since you went away,
life has never been the same.
Yet, it comforts me to know,
that one day we'll meet again.

So, so sorry to hear the news

To all of Martins family and friends

I send my sincerest condolences. I only knew Martin briefly but I liked him and was shocked when I heard the news. I know that nothing can take away the grief but time will help to heal.

I am very sorry to hear this news and my heart goes out to you all.

Keep watch over the Regiment especially those in foreign parts and away from their families at this Christmastime.

i'm missing you sooo much Martin, you were my baby brother and always will be!! i felt it my place to look out for you and keep you out of trouble, but in reality it was you that looked after me and you did it so well. I still look out for you when i'm online, and sometimes have the overwhelming urge to text you! i move in to my new house in a few weeks and sad you wont be here to see it. but you will always have a big presence in it even though you have never been in it. Looking forward to seeing you again and hearing your voice, i would love to hear you say 'hey sweetie' just once more.
In my thoughts always, love you forever xx

To be taken so young when you have so much in front of you is a crime. You were a wonderful brother to your sisters and I'm sure you are still watching over them now. They remember you with pride. You have done so much in such a short time.

I didnt know you, but i served out in iraq whilst you were there and you served on 1sqn with my husband cpl stewart hefti who got injured on that horrible day. I will never understand why you were taken but may you rest with the honour and dignity that you deserve. you served your country and your squadron proud. You will never be forgotten.
